|Architecture is a design process with a purpose. Enterprise Architecture principles establish the core internal strengths necessary for the architecture purpose.|
A set of principles with supporting text is provided under each of the headings shown to the left. These headings define portions of one Enterprise architecture and subsets of aligned core principles. Enterprises that are going to establish an EA function should take a very close look at these principles and adopt them or something close.
The most significant change and perhaps most difficult one is tightening up data quality. An enterprise can no longer afford to allow weak and inconsistent and disparate data to collect in various application data stores. The costs of this are far too high for a 21st Century Enterprise.
